Do I have to be 55 years of age or older to live at this community?

Our 55+ communities are designated as such through Section 807(b)(2)(C) of The Fair Housing Act. This means our 55+ communities are intended and operated for occupancy by persons 55 years of age or older.

At least 80 percent of the occupied units must be occupied by at least one person who is 55 years of age or older. However, up to 20 percent of our units may be rented by someone under the age of 55, but no one under 18 years of age can reside in the community.

What does "independent living“ mean?

Independent living means that our residents are independent with the capability of in-home maintenance and personal care.  Our communities do not provide nursing care, meals, or house cleaning.  Residents can have in-home caregivers; however, this is something they would need to coordinate and manage. If the caregiver were to live in the apartment – they would need to follow the procedure to rent an apartment.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, two pets are allowed per cottages.  Dogs must be small breeds (less than 25 pounds each).

Can grandchildren visit me if they are under 18?

Yes, grandchildren can visit and stay up to one week.

What is the lease term?

Lease terms are flexible.

Can I plant my own plants in the garden?

The property is professionally landscaped.  Garden plots will be available for personal planting.

Is there a place to park RVs or trailers in the communities? What about additional parking for cars?

There is no space for parking RVs, trailers or boats.  There are detached garages for additional vehicles.
